We are very happy with what we got. I didn't mean to come across unhappy with the apartment we got I was just expecting the bedrooms to be a tad bigger. Just can't wait to move in now.
 
I phoned the property path folk yesterday and they said they now have the Priors Gate valuations and I should expect a call within a week.

Bobby G - I got a phone call just now from my solicitors saying they have just received my contracts! so we should get a call from SDCC very soon - im going to ring them now

That's brilliant news, I must give our solicitors a call tomorrow and see if they have heard anything. Maybe we will be in by the end of October after all.

when u views your apt was it ready to move into or still work to be done? what were the wardrobes like - are they built-in?

The apartments looked finished to me just a good bit to do on the building in general but they looked ready to snag to me. The wardrobes are built in and they are just standard double door wardrobes (not very well positioned in terms of space)

Hi Studio 54, did you call the council the other day? If so did they have any good news?
 
Hi all, I have been on to fingal for the last few months and I will be going to view carrington court. Does anybody who has bought one of these apartments know when they will be ready to move in to?

Yes spoke to them Wed and they said they will have the valuations within the next working week so to expect a phone call then!!! exciting times ahead!
 
Folks,

I am really confused, I thought with my salary at @40-45K with overtime, 1 would qualify as a single person on the Affordable housing scheme. Have the rules changed or has SDCC just changed them for this new lot of stock?

Did anybody else get a letter from elliotts to day there apt is ready for snagging and should be done with in 7 days. Can we go ahead and do this if our mortgage is not sorted?

I left the house way before the postman today so hopefully I'll get it when I go home. 7 days doesn't give us much notice!! Nobody's mortgage is sorted as we all need a letter from SDCC first. Have you been called in to talk about Clawback etc. Thats what SDCC are to do one they got the Valu reports done -
 
We got our letter too but can't seem to get a suitable time to do the snag. They said they wont let us do them on the weekend and we have to do it before 6.00 pm during the week I think they are been a little bit unflexible with us here. We are going to try delay ours until the week after next as our snagger is away.

Stuart said they will do weekends when they get busy but not yet! its crazy - we all work so its very difficult to tie in with their times! im still working on a snagger - is €250 the norm??

I am not sure if it's the norm but it's the price we were quoted too.

regading snagging

Is it imperative to get a prfessional snagger? Would a friend with experience in doing alot of their own DIY and very accomplished at it (ie pointing, floor laying, electrical work) etc be a good person for a snag? Or is there more to it than that?

I snagged my Apt (PGate) on Friday. have to say I wasnt very happy. The doors are completely different to the show apart. Back in June when we paid our deposit - that apartment had all white doors. you are right about the bedrooms they are tiny. im wondering if because they are affordable homes they cut costs and give us cheaper doors? anyway - i am grateful as I know how hard it is to get property
