Media coverage of results very poor

FF/SF/Greens

It's the only one that would have the numbers but how stable will it be. SF will insist on Finance. One SF budget would probably be enough to send a lot of FF TD's looking at their options.

I think complaining about predictions is pointless, as we've seen both yesterday and today it is impossible to tell where votes will go. So many counts are so tight anyone making a prediction would have egg on their face pretty soon. Adrian Kavanagh has updated his estimate about 3 or 4 times today.

UCD is now forecasting as of 17.15

FF : 39
SF: 37
FG: 36 (or 35)

 I can't see how Mary Lou could accept anything less than Teashop with that sort of result. Winner in the share of first preferences and just pipped for seats because they ran about half as many candidates as the other two. And yet Mary Lou as Teashop and MM as Tan would seem a very hard swallow for FF. Rotating Teashop maybe but surely Mary Lou would insist on first spin.

according to Barry Cowen its up to Sinn Fein to form a government, its up to them to cobble together a left government as thats what people voted for . Alot of fianna fail grass roots not in favour of coalition with Sinn fein, in fact vehemently opposed to it. The fact that they lost too many seats today has galvanised that opinion, they wont be the mud guard for Sinn Fein. So its probably alot of shenanigans with small parties , no government and another election.
