as i said before a leaf holds no interest for me, but again ill ask where are you getting these battery failure rates from?

Services for Leaf

  • NEW in Nov/Dec [delayed from Aug] – 11kWh, 22kWh and 33kWh extensions giving extra range +75km, +140km and +210km,
  • Cost: €4500, €7900, €10,000 [including installation, suspension upgrade and warranty];
See above.

I understand it's a rare occurrence, but that doesn't mean it's not a valid consideration. Why link solely to climate, do EV drivers never crash?
I think it would be a really good discussion for an actuarial forum or AskAboutAssessing. But in a Key Post on a consumer issues forum in a way that implies it’s a likely thing people need to worry about, I think it’s unhelpful. There are probably 50 more important things higher on the list of concerns consumers should have.

There were lots of discussions here on DPF failures on low mileage diesel engines being a big concern a few years back. Again, very rare event, but those in the know were able to advise how best to manage the risk through better usage. If the EV fans can't even countenance that battery degradation and replacement is a concern to potential buyers and actually address the concerns rather than just dismiss them, then what's the point even discussing?
