Let's hope none of them ever loses their phone or is involved in an incident that necessitates a phone call from another phone because they can't make that call from their phone.

They won't have my phone number then, will they!!!

I block all calls other than those from contacts, but allow texts from anyone. The genuine caller not in my contacts can leave a voicemail and I can return the call or they can text me. Works well imo.
