Ulster bank mortgage - I have heard nothing from AIB?

My tracker has also been transferred but it's maturing at the end of next year and only has an outstanding balance of around 8k. I don't think the outstanding balance played any role in the order of transfer. Maybe it's just alphabetical order?
Tracker mortgage has not moved over to AIB as yet. Wonder if they have delayed transfer due to the other issue of incorrect payment request on some mortgages.

Idk, they planned all along to do it in at least two tranches IIRC, well before there was any indication AIB were about to mess up with the repayment calculations.

I wonder are there many left to migrate across to AIB?
I have received earlier letters about the move from UB to AIB and I expected it to complete this year, but with 2 months notice to be given, it looks like it will be late January by the earliest before this happens.

Dunno, but I am still waiting for a transfer notification too, or any communication for that matter!

Got a letter this morning saying that there had been a delay. They expected now to complete the transfer in the first half of 2024. That they had suspended extensions and topup loans until now but knew this was causing hardship for some borrowers and to get in touch if we needed that facility (we don't).

Do we get compensated as they will be changing the terms?
Before you could pay extra onto the account and if you miss a payment and there is enough of an over payment on the account the bank would take that as payment? Also before you could pay into the mortgage account and withdraw if needed at a later stage. AIB will not allow this. Once they have your over payment the money s tied up with the mortgage.

Just received a letter. The last letter advised transfer in H1, this letter pushes the transfer out to H2.

There was a little info about some changes that may apply when we transfer to AIB. I know they recently had a large tranche of redundancies so perhaps the lower headcount is affecting the speed this can happen at.

Ulster mortgages are mostly handled out of RBS/Nat West Mortgage centre in Edinburgh.

In my experience, the new arrangements aren’t great. The transferred mortgages are collectively administered by a separate unit within AIB (Mars I think).

Whereas it used to be possible to access details of the outstanding balance etc at any time online, this is no longer an option. While I can still phone for this information, the level of customer service I’ve experienced doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence. Meanwhile, the end-of-year statement was sent sometime in April and serves only as a guide.

The Ulster bank portal seems to be gone entirely now. I am assuming that no transfer has occurred and we're just waiting on some communication more than "we haven't done it yet". As mentioned by @SaySomething I received a letter in May with a little info about the structure going forward for making overpayments (i.e. you'll have to make any overpayment yourself, AIB won't take it with your regular mortgage payment). Given how parsimonious they have been with their communication, I have a sneaking suspicion the first I will be aware of the move will be when my bank statement shows a direct debit to AIB instead of UB!

So-crates your mortgage most have moved across as I have access to the portal.

Received a letter Friday stating terms are not the same. Had old date on the letter.
Overpayments have to be set up once moved so standard payments will only be taken at move to AIB. Another thing before you could pay repayments over 10 months now only option is 12 months.
Customer suffers for their decision to leave the market. Will check reference on mortgage payment.

Thanks @Sconeandjam , I am not sure that is the case as I am not even getting as far as being able to enter in my login details, I am getting an Out of Service message when I try the URL I have been using. "The system is currently unavailable. Please wait for 5 minutes and try again."

Can I ask what website you are using?

Trying around the UB website I find this on their personal business landing page which explains what I am seeing, they've removed that portal

I think that is where the difference is. I click on https://www.ulsterbank.ie/ and log in there using the login in icon on the right top of the page. This is the login I used to use to check the bank accounts and the had a mini mortgage statement in there. I could not see all the payments. I did see that note when I logged in.

Update: Ulster Bank have transferred my mortgage anyway. I got a letter today. AIB are to be in touch in the next fortnight with more information. I assume that's the last tranche so? They said the transfer happened effective 2nd September and the letter arrived remarkably swiftly for Ulster Bank. I guess most people will have a letter by early next week.

We got an introductory letter from AIB/welcome pack. No new account details though or information on how to access account online. Final statement from Ulster Bank. All in the past fortnight.

So did we.

One of the leaflets advised that setting up online access in conjunction with our existing AIB accountscould be done by phoning them. Many automated menus later the advisor told me this could only be done in branch, with photo ID and we would both have to do this, though not necessarily at the same time.

that is despite them already linking our AIB current account with the mortgage as we have been paying it from AIB since we closed our UB account. They had also written tous saying we would not have to pay current account fees as long as mortgage existed si at least that!

I got my transfer letter last week. I phoned AIB Phone banking and asked to make my mortgage account visible on my online banking account. I've had and paid from an AIB current account since the beginning of the mortgage years ago. They gave me instructions on how to try, but it failed, which I think didn't surprise the phone banking operator. He gave me another number to ring, and the person there did some basic identity checking and asked me to check the app, and lo and behold, there it was. Took about 5 mins in total over both calls.

Unless you already have an AIB account it online access is currently not available, though they did tell me that it was planned in the future. The account number is the same as your previous Ulster Bank mortgage number.

I requested a statement as I reckoned the figures were a bit off when he gave me the balance. It wasn't in line with what I expected it to be, not massively out but definitely out by a 3 figure sum. On the statement I noted a couple of things and have since been in contact again with AIB to find out why.
1) The interest for August was added on August 31st (as per Ulster Bank).
2) There was a second interest added on September 1st - this I queried with them, apparently they take interest at the start of the month and not the end, so this is the September interest. There is an Interest Adjustment credited on the 2nd which I think (didn't want to ring them a third time to confirm!) is to account for the disparity in the interest date (I am effectively paying interest on the interest for September).
3) Contrary to the communication from Ulster Bank and from AIB, they took the debit including my overpayment. Apparently this will change when the new interest rate is applied and I will have to set up my overpayment as a standing order then.

I think it would have been sensible of AIB to make it clear that the day of the month the interest is charged would be changing and how that would be corrected for. It would have also be better if they had been correct about the payment.
