This is true but note that they can only be used once.
 
I was in Dunnes and my money off voucher (spend €50 get €10 off) was out of date by one day. The lady said due to everyone moving to the app less paper vouchers can be passed onto other customers. She said the staff would keep extra ones that others were not going to use during the week. This has changed since the app. Win win for Dunnes.

That's exactly the reason why I have not moved to the app. Also heard that the App is very poor and unreliable.
 
I have the app but still just pay cash and get paper vouchers, I only got the app for the voucher that week :)

There is a FB page for vouchers, stick up a post and you'll probably get one sent to you in minutes, any I don't get to use up before date I just post there and give away. Very handy, means I never have to try and use up the vouchers as I wouldn't shop in Dunnes every week but can get my hands on a voucher when I need it.

I just sign into the app using my mams account. So does my sister. Between the three of us the vouchers never expire as we'll all use one of two during the week.
It means she gets the points. That doesn't bother me.
 
I see the 4 big supermarket chains are all reducing the price of 2L of milk by 10c, being reported today. However when supermarkets all raise the price of products to the same level they come in for criticism for operating like a cartel however usually they never do a big announcement like now. This time they are all saying in unison that they will reduce the price of milk by 10c. But is this not more close to actual cartel activity but because they are reducing prices they are not concerned about being perceived as fixing prices

Hardly. Lidl were first to announce a price cut and the others obviously decided it was better to follow suit than to hand them the competitive advantage.
 
The price of milk the co-op have being paying the farmers has been falling steadily since January, not surprised the retailers cling on to the differential as long as possible.
 
I did a double shop yesterday. One in Dunnes and one in Lidl. I noticed that I was paying about 20c extra on items in Dunnes than I was paying in Lidl. All these 20c eroded the €5 off voucher that I used in Dunnes.

I enjoyed my shop in Lidl more. Lots of "different" stuff available that was not available in Dunnes. We ended up buying twice as much in Lidl as a result. I do like those honey glazed parsnips in Lidl I have to say. :p

Supermarket chain cuts price of butter

Following widespread falls in the price of milk across the main supermarkets during the weekend, consumers in one supermarket chain will also now benefit from a drop in the price of butter.

From tomorrow morning, Tesco Ireland said it will cut the price of its own brand butter by 40c a pound, pricing it at €2.99 - down from €3.39.

It is the first retailer to announce a cut in the cost of butter, although its likely others will follow.

This is good news , only issue is that with MUP with alcohol pricing that protects the brewing giants like diageo and pernod ricard from price competition. What an idiotic policy by government . If they wanted they should have just increased excise taxes on alcohol which still would have allowed pricing competition rather than the idiotic MUP

MUP was a public health rather than an economic measure.
Not that I agree with it either though.

I'm with you on this one.
Quality alcohol and cheap brands all the same price now.

And as for stopping binge drinking - I'm not convinced.
The alchos round my neck of the woods seem to have been unaffected by the increases

Vouchers can be screenshot from your phone and used by someone else. I have done this a few times.
