TV provider with best customer service

I have Sky TV and the box keeps losing it's connection with the internet. I've had a technician "engineer" out but the problem is reoccurring.
I'm not willing to spend 20 minutes listening to an AI Bot. Is there any TV provider that has a customer support line which is answered by a human? I don't care about the price.
 
I find Sky's customer service to be pretty good, just skip through the bot stuff and you get a human eventually.

Not sure if any other provider is any better. Staff are the highest cost, so having as few of them as possible is the model for these utility providers.

Btw, we have Sky broadband and it drops all the time. Don't know if switching will solve the problem as they'll be using the same lines. Sky tv works fine though.
 
I presume you have broadband through Sky as well? If not, the issue could be with that provider or possibly where your router is positioned?

I've found Virgin ok the couple of times I've had to ring them, only issue is needing the patience of Job before someone finally answers.

No, it's with Virgin.

The TV connects fine to the internet.

I'd happily move to Virgin if there was an option to speak to a real person in a reasonable amount of time. There has to be a gap in the market for a premium level subscription that gives access to proper customer service. I'd happily pay an extra €20 a month for that.
 
You probably need a replacement box.
Threaten to cancel if they refuse.
They may of course cite what ever contract you're on, but stress you're walking unless this is resolved.
 
We have a SKY Q box (multiroom). Up until 2 years ago we were with Virgin for broadband. Good enough speeds but intermittently the box lost connection (about monthly on average).
When SIRO came around we changed to Digiweb broadband and all has been sound and stable since.
 
If your have business internet account with Virgin Media, their technical support is Dublin based. I believe in Ballymount industrial estate. They are supposed to be better and have more authority to get things done/fixed than the consumer support in the Philippines.
 
Be careful with switching to any of the new streaming services as none of them offer the ability to record RTE or BBC. It you have a box with a physical hard drive, keep on to it for as long as possible. AFAIK, Sky are still offering Sky Q with a physical hard drive, but it's only a matter of time before this is withdrawn.

I find all "Customer Service" equally appalling these days, they simply don't care.

Virgin Media are particularly bad. They never show up to appointments. It's a 30 min wait any time you need to ring their Customer Service. It's a very frustrating customer experience. I will move from them as soon as there is a viable alternative.

As @CPM_81 has said, if you switch TV provider now it is likely to be a streaming service with diminished recording and playback. As other posters have suggested either push for a new box (by giving notice to quit, if necessary) or connect your box to the router via ethernet cable. If getting a new box from SKY make sure it is a Q box.

Thanks, the router is in a different room so that's not an option. I'll push for a new box.
 
OK....So it all points to the box.
I'm afraid you're gonna have to make that phone call.
I find setting aside a couple of leisurely hours and having a bottle of Jameson Crested at the ready helps.

You haven't got your Q Box set to ECO mode by any chance? I read somewhere that this can result in WIFI dropping.
