Hi I am the executor of a will and the parent of the beneficiary. I have the folio number of the property how do I go change the ownership to the beneficiary (minor) or do I need to get the property in my name until they become of age? Can I do this without engaging a solicitor

When it comes to property I would not do this; why try and save a (relatively) small amount of money on such a large value asset.

Almost certainly you should not try to deal with this on a DIY basis and you should get a solicitor involved.

A nephew of mine was once the beneficiary of a will (albeit for a much lesser amount). Because he was a minor, his mother had to sign something to the effect that she would hold on to the amount until he was 18.
Unless you know more about how this works in practice, you’re probably better off getting a solicitor to discharge the will on this occasion.
