Tommy was a brilliant journalist. RTE haven't had anyone close to as good as him in Northern Ireland before or since.And also known for his work with RTE, a familiar face on the RTE news, journalist Tommie O'Gorman has passed away aged 68

The great Kinky Friedman , caustic musician and crime writer has died .
With his band Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys he released songs that entertained and offended in equal measures - his obituary is well worth reading .
As a writer his crime books were most enjoyable and featured a private detective in the Raymond Chandler mode named Kinky Friedman selling over 6 million copies
He also ran for Governor of Texas in 2006 and received 12 % of the vote .

If anyone watched the news last night, they would have seen the funeral of Harry Gleeson, an innocent man executed by the state back in the 40s for a crime he did not do.
