This point was never addressed. Without quotes, the conversation is impossible to follow. Any large quotes are collapsed, so they don't take up too much space on your screen.It can render threads unnavigable in my experience,
On arriving at the site this morning, the lack of reply and quote buttons has me thinking every thread was closed to replies. I wonder what newcomers will think?But I think that the confusion outweighs it.

My first thought when I saw the change was that the thread I was reading had been closed to replies. I'd guess a new user (even one familiar with other forums) would think the same.really think removing the quote and reply buttons makes the forum far less user friendly and is solving for a problem that doesn’t really exist.
That's always been the casesomebody does quote an entire post would it be possible to collapse it to the first, say, three lines?
It fills up the post with content which is usually just not relevant.
