I buy a box of these every week from Dunnes Stores. I have noticed in the last few boxes purchased that there are a number of oranges that are going rotten/mushy within a day or two of me buying them. Anybody else notice this?

Don't eat oranges so can't comment on those but bought 2 trays of kiwi @ €3 each with 4 in each tray. Opposite to your problem as could have bounced them off the floor. They are usually very nice and much better than the €2.49 trays and have been buying them for a long time now without any problems. Wondering does the time of year have anything to do with these problems.

I usually find that the fruit/veg from Dunnes lasts a lot longer than Lidl/Aldi so am surprised at this.

Same. Wasn't sure if we were damaging them though but I guess not now

Yes paid 6.99 for a box of easy peelers last Wednesday and more than half of them were only fit for the bin. It is very annoying tbh snd you can't see them as Box is almost fully covered. I intend mentioning it when next in Dunnes

I found that over the late summer their strawberries were going soft/off more quickly than previously. I put it down to our weather this year. But I'm finding the same with the Dutch imports now.
Could it relate to their fruit storage?

I also had to send a box of Dunnes oranges back last weekend as most mouldy. The quality of their fruit and veg lately has gone down. Also their meat is terrible. Cooked their lamb and sirloin roasts recently that were tough and almost inedible.

But but but! There will be people here saying €5 off €25 etc. I played that game carefully for a few months and came to the conclusion that it's not worth it unless you are a long way from other supermarkets, or only Dunnes have the products that you want. There are plenty of alternatives available at cheaper prices particularly in Aldi and Lidl. If you find some you're happy with, in my view that more than negates the so-called advantages of the Dunnes vouchers.

Well don't switch to LIDL for their special on 49c "funsize" easy peelers.
I tried them last time they were on offer and half went in bin... only good for juicing and certainly not easy peeling.

Happy to use the €50/€10 in Dunnes but SuperValu, Lidl and Aldi and all have other products that I want/prefer. Probably split something liked 35/35/20/10 in the order they are listed. There is the occasional excursion to Dealz for a limited range.

I am surrounded by all the supermarkets including a Marks & Spencer and Donnybrook Fair. I was in Lidl Stillorgan yesterday. Their offering was very poor. The Lidl App is a joke. Lots of items on the shelves had no prices on them. To be fair they are constantly understaffed with staff having to do multiple jobs. I only shop here once a month mainly to stock up with the German type products and items that I cannot get in Tesco and Dunnes. I like Lidl but nothing is as cheap as people are making out.

These are probably the ,'before ,' black Friday deals.... They don't want to have bad black Friday deals now do they ... ;)

My oranges, also purchased from a box, are going soft from the top down, pure mush.

I also tried purchasing the loose ones at 49c each and these were going brown in the middle with a crusty type interior.

Is it coming to end of season, maybe greenhouse grown stuff or transported from further away so shorter shelf life?
