That's not how the the small claims court works. There is literally nothing to attend

They try to negotiate a settlement first. If this does not give a satisfactory solution the case is heard in the District court.

My modus operandi would be to send a letter to the person I was in dispute with and ask for the solution I required. I would state that if I did not get a satisfactory response within a reasonable time I would take my case to the Small Claims Court.
In my previous experience when dealing with a small sum of money this usually succeeds in getting a satisfactory resolution.
If the person digs their heels in, I might just leave it at that.

Is there a fee schedule on their website indicating a charge for an x-ray?

There is a schedule of fees showing general dentistry costs etc on their site but doesnt list xrays
