Choose one to be “resolved”: Brexit, Covid or Trump.

As for trump an interesting fact, he is the first president since Jimmy Carter not to go to war with any country, if Biden and Harris get in will there be more trouble in the middle east as they probably won't leave them settle their own problems which was the trump strategy, isolationism.

This is the most important thing about the Trump presidency, and while Hilary Clinton was a far more qualified candidate and I never understood much of the animus against her, she would likely have dragged the US into a war over Syria, which would have been a disaster.

As I have said here before the crises of the Trump presidency have been mostly domestic, for which we can all be grateful.

Given a choice between:

* A “good” deal Brexit
* A “viable” Covid vaccine confirmed
* Donald Trump not being re-elected

... by the end of 2020, which would you choose as them most important for you, for Ireland and for the world?

Covid is a real world event, which we can hope will be resolved.

The exact details of the Brexit deal, or the outcome of the US election will not resolve the tensions in UK or US society. We would all like to see those societies at ease with themselves and with a positive vision for their future, but neither a 'good' Brexit nor a Trump defeat will deliver that.

I think they all will be resolved in early 2021,
there will be a Covid vaccine soon and lockdowns will end in early 2021 and corona recede into the backround finally
there will be a brexit deal and no crash out brexit
Trump will be re elected, this is probably the least likely of the three but Biden does not seem like a man that is going into the white house especially when the news and media is still dominated by Trump.

All in all though I think 2021 will be a good year and alot of uncertainty will finally be put to bed.

Yea, "No other painkiller acts faster", in other words "This is exactly the same as the other painkillers".

The ones that work faster than regular painkillers have a super rare unobtainable secret ... caffeine.

He didn't start one but did bomb Syria at least twice as well as ongoing military activity in the middle east. US casulties in 2019 in Afghanistan were their highest in 5 years for example.

And thats Trump's fault ??, if jihadis decide to kill US more troops how can Trump be blamed for that? Trump was actively involved in a peace deal with the Taliban and was the most enthusiastic about getting US troops out of Afghanistan to the horror of Bush era hawk John Bolton, so he fired him.
He authorised very limited strikes on Syria in order to prevent any escalation and even warned the Russian military beforehand so that soldiers could be evacuated preventing major casualties.
It was still the most peaceful US regime since Jimmy Carter. Way more peaceful than Obama, George Bush junior and Senior, Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan.
Its probably the case though that he benefited somewhat from unpredictability so US adversaries like Iran were afraid to really test him.

Hard to disagree with that.

Of course it is his fault, he is the Commander in chief, the buck stops at his desk. If he is not responsible then Bush is not responsible for getting them into the mess in the first place.

No arguement that it was the most peaceful US regime but he has left a legacy in Iran and North Korea that may come back to haunt the US
