Buying off the plans and clueless

Hi,
I am in the process of buying a house off the plans and am a little overwhelemed by the process. It would be great if someone could tell me the order in which things should happen. At what stage do I tell them what extra sockets/fans in bathrooms etc I want. Is it before/after signing contracts? The house is at foundation level and at the rate they are going, the walls could be up in a month. Also to get sockets etc added, do I do it through an engineer or who do I get to mark out desired locations for the changes on the plans? I assume that changes to electrics etc can be done even after the house reaches roof level?

You need to get a contact name in the Builders and deal with that person directly. We are the same at the moment and have been speaking with a guy who is very helpful and is coming back to us with quotes for the extra work we want done. Put everything in writing and make sure they put everything in writing also.
