Health Insurance Alternative to Laya Company Care Plus for older folks?

Both my parents are currently on the Laya Company Care Plus plan, but the overall annual cost has increased by over €2,500 since 2020 and they're seeking an alternative.

They're both almost eighty and have medical issues such as cancer treatments and osteopath surgeries (knee replacements) already scheduled and being paid mostly by their current plan. They're very happy with Laya, it's just this specific plan is getting too expensive for them.

I'm concerned that they might have to restart waiting periods if they switch plans however - is there any danger of this if they do?

I'll read through the key threads on this forum (and thanks, it's excellent) but wanted to also check if anyone had any quick advice.

No...This may only happen if they upgrade parts of their cover.

in case anyone comes across this via a google search, we decided to switch to Laya Momentum as an alternative plan, as it was a bit cheaper but had most of the things that they needed.

We weren't able to figure out how to compare Laya Company Care Plus to Laya Momentum on the HIA.ie website for some reason (might have been our misunderstanding) however we were able to on the Laya website, which has a similar comparison tool.

Thanks again Charlie and Clubman for the help, and to the forum for the great resources here.

Laya Momentum looks a very decent policy.
I'll certainly be giving it a closer look when I renew in the middle of next year.

Yes indeed, think we may have saved them over €2k next year without losing coverage of anything important to them. It will make a big difference to their budget, appreciate all the help and information on here - thanks all!
