i was offered in Kilcock and to be honest it is not the council holding things up but their solicitor that appears to be holding things up. I am now waiting 49 weeks,

I was told over the phone blessington but no letter of offer they are still telling me my position has not changed on the list but until the developer submits the information they require on the units including values they cannot proceed

I know you said it was the solicitor that was holding things up, and this may seem like a stupid question but how are they doing so is this not the same paperwork as there would be for a normal house sale?

Have you rang Osbourne (I am assuming it is the County Council's solicitors holding things up) to see what the problem is ?

Have you obtained loan approval yet ?

Just querying as I have just obtained the keys through KCC AH scheme and did encounter problems left, right and centre with a variety of people/organisations.

Rang them continously until last july when I had enough of a the person dealing with the contracts the nameless person told me that it was the builder holding up the process for a house that they had bought from the builder 18mths beforehand. I told the person in question that the builder was a family friend (fact) and that as far as he was concerned all paper work was signed sealed and delivered weeks before hand. The person in question refused to answer questions regarding the property then said that they would deal with the land registry but refused to give an undertaking to do so. So we said that we would just answer the questions. To be honest I feel that the said person hasnt got a clue of what they should be doing. At long questions were answered and when we went to the land registry so had they thus making paper work incorrect and prolonging the process again. That is my understanding of it.

But good news hopefully should be getting the keys next week 51 weeks after the offer. but i dont hold my breath. seeing is believing after all.

Who is the builder as a matter of interest ? (You can drop me a PM)

Hopefully you can move in, I though we had problems, from early June, we had problems, but everything was finally resolved last week.

Can you not get your solicitor to start using their clout and earning their keep to find out what is wrong ?

Discovered that the allocation of houses is being delayed due to a planning dispute between the planning department and the developer have been in contact with the planning department trying to discover what this delay is due to. Have checked the web and there is no application outstanding and no mention of retention application.

My solicitor ended up telling the councils solicitor to do only as requested and no more. My solicitor was totally fed up with theirs as their work was sloppy and it was as plain as day that they didnt know what they are doing. I did consider reporting them to the law society.
These houses were purchased by the council early last year. it should have been a direct sale but due to the fact mislaid paper work and incorrect paperwork as well as stupidity of someone who hadnt done the homework in the selling of houses is where the problem begins and ends. I have no fault with KCC and the staff there in fact i found that once they knew of the above problems and that i could furnish them with the incorrect documentation they got very involved in sorting it.
