Yea look into it as far as I know it is a set fee anyways. Did you get the offical letter yet from the council? Do you have start applying for the mortgage and stuff straight away when you get the offer
 
Ya got the letter in the post today. they are market valued at 375k.

They said the sooner you get the ball rolling with the bank and solicitors the sooner your in the house. So as soon as you get your call, start making your appoinments
 
I know that you are all very excited, but please stop naming employees of Cork County Council in public.

It's unfair to them. And I have had to delete all the posts which wastes my time and makes the thread a bit disjointed.

Hi, this is my first time posting a message here, however, I have been reading this site for the past 4/5 weeks and it has been more than helpful. I was hoping to get a house in Highfield but this looks unlikely now. Does anyone know where the other houses in Douglas and Carrigaline are besides Castletreasure and Heron's Wood?
 
hey dylanjohn was told shoild be in by xmas so fingers crossed. i rang a lot of solicitors for prices and edward b carey in marlboro st in city came out the best. they have a special rate of 700 euro for affordable purchases plus vat and outlays which they all charge.

Nah, no news. I'm in the running for the 3 beds in Greenfield that is all I know. Trying to stay calm but that is not easy.

Hi Viv,

All the semi's in Highfields are gone, but there are still other houses in the estate which, as far as I know, havent been allocated yet.

That would be brill to be in by xmas, but there is so much to do in the house, that even if we got the keys I cant really see how all the work will be done by then. Although I could be wrong....

You should be in with a great chance for Greenfields, especially if you had your interview and everything. I know the waiting is terrible tho.

Yip, everything seems to be ok, he even increased my approval for more, so thats a bit more towards furnishing etc, happy days! He said there will be a valuer going to value the house on Monday or Tuesday, that cost €127, and I should have an official loan offer by the end of next week. I have an appointment with the solicitors today, and they'll hopefully give me some idea of how long it all takes.
 
Do you have to arrange the valuer going out with the council cause I presume he has to get into the house? I doubt that people will be into the houses by Christmas by the time you get flooring and all thst stuff organised. I'm still waiting to hear from them. My nerves are realy at me at this stage.
 
I just gave the bank the councils contact name and number, and they take it from there. And id say that there is a good chance you will get a call tomorrow. It seems to be on Thursday they make phonecalls so fingers crossed - your nearly there now!
 
Hopefully anyway she just said she had to wait for 2 people to sign off on it and then I will hear from them.
 
You can start to relax after you get your phonecall anyway. I know theres lots to do after, but at least the waiting will be over once & for all! Best of Luck
