Affordable Housing Initiative Greater Dublin Area-Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow

They are waiting for Elliots to let them know when (and how many) of the units are available.

Hi Studio54,

I thought there was 24 units available on the affordable housing initiative? That is the figure on the property path website, is this figure likely to change?

24 is still the number of apts. What I meant was all 24 may not be ready at the same time- so lets say only 5 are ready now - the first 5 on the SDCC list will be notified first and so on. its just an example - we may be lucky that all 24 will be ready at teh same time :)

Hi,
I got a letter offering an apartment in Arena Court a little more than a fortnight ago.
I'm not too clued up about the development itself, but at this stage anything is better than nothing!

Cheers! I'm last on the list to pick, they have put families to the top of the list irrespective of when they got their application in. Pissed off about that but can also see their point about large families not having enough room in a 2 bed apartment.

No viewing for Priorsgate yet. Rang the council last week and they said they were still waiting to get AIP from everyone. They were going to write and request if from those still outstanding last Friday. The girl also said they won't be ready until the end of the year - I don't think that could be right though.

I would say it depends on what block they are in, block 3 looks like it will be ready in about a month or two but there still looks like there is a lot of work to be done to block 1 & 2.

hi studio 54.
AIP is approval in principal you will have to get it from one of the 3 nominated banks. Its like an estimate of how much of a mortgage you qualify for. Everybody has to send this is to sdcc before the arrange viewing.

Hi Anxious - thanks for that.
how did you find this out? There's no mention of AIP in their letter they sent out in April. I rang them 2 weeks ago to ask if I needed to do anything and they just said sit tight and wait for viewing apt!!! aaahhhh

I only found this out when i rang them too. Although i was thinking about getting it anyway just to be sure id qualify.Apparently they notified everybody about this although i dont think this is true.
It shouldnt take too long to get AIP, well i suppose that will depend on the bank you choose to go with:)

well I got no notification so im guessing no one did - they should have really re-worded their orginal letter! anyway luckily I have AIP since April so Im just going to send it into them. talk about a sloooowwww process - frustation or what :)

Good news on PriorsGate - the developer asked the council for the list of those to view yesterday. Looks like we'll be contacted very shortly.

I got my place in The Paddocks on saturday, I didn't have to send the council anything before the estate agent got in touch. It is wise to get in touch with a mortgage provider just so you know how much you can afford before you go to the viewings
