Affordable Housing Initiative Greater Dublin Area-Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow

Me too - cant wait to finally put a deposit down, measure up and go shopping for it
roll on tomorrow

All good I think.
Bit of a delay whilst the "I'm an adult get me out of here" bandwagon rolled through the show apartment.
One semi affordable 2 bed on the first floor shall be mine, apparently. mostly west facing.

cheers,
peter

Hi All,

We got no. 11 in block 1 and are very happy campers. Anybody here get no. 10 or 12?

Thats a lovely sq footage alright. I'm signing for an affordable home on Monday. Its only 649sq ft. Am not too bothered though, could be a lot worse.

Hi, just wondering if anyone booked a place in Arena Court.
We booked off plan yesterday but the maintenence fees are making me wonder if it's worthwhile: 2100 p/a.

That is an absolute joke. Thats €175 a month. You should query it with someone, wasnt there a big thing in the papers recently about management fees. What would happen if you didnt pay them and contested them with the courts?

check this out, I thinkyou might be wrong.

The agent confirmed that was the fee, I've asked for a detailed breakdown which i've yet to receive.

It really is atrocious though, at 280k the flat is at the edge of affordability, and 175 a month would probably be better used to take out a bigger mortgage.

I'm quite angry and unsure about what to do.

Hi Skink,

I know this isn't relevant to your problem but I was just wondering what the square footage is on your apartment?

Hi Bobby,
It's 69 square metres, not sure about that in feet.

And thanks to everyone for the replies, i really appreciate it

congrats. I was going for no 11 but it only had 1 bathroom. I wanted 2 bathrooms as I may want to rent out the other room. ended up getting a South facing apt with Patio (like the showapt) in Block 2 so am happy.

Congrats. We were looking at that one too but in the end we decided to go for the bigger living space. As it will be just me and my girlfriend living there the second bathroom wasn't a major issue for us.

FYI Management fee for Priorsgate is €1450 - Rang Elliots and they said its nothing to do with them so rang Hooke&MacDonald and they said roughly €1450 - basically €120 per month - I would love to know how they come up with those figures!!! will be interesting to see the breakdown.
Anyone got a name of a cheap solicitor - just been quoted 2k - dont think so!

Re: Affordable Housing Initiative Greater Dublin Area-Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wick

i can't remember the exact breakdown of the numbers, but apparently the management fee is about 1600 euro with an additional 500 for "parking maintenence" (the flat comes with 1 parking space, 15k for a second space with an additional 350 euro annual charge).

If anyone else has bought in Arena Court I would be very interested to hear from them.

We were told that the management fee would be €1500 and an extra €200 if you have a car space.
