How could prices going down EVER be a bad thing??????

Ask the farmers. If it isn't the rain or Tescos, it's the drought :D

well if you lived anywhere apart from dundalk or along the border then i'd call that a bad thing. Cause there not reducing the prices all over the country.

Well after shopping in the Drogheda store last night where they literally could not load the shelves fast enough for the demand - I'd say it will be coutrywide in a matter of weeks... it was crazy last night!
I for one am sick of farmers whining when most of them get EU money for NOT farming their land!

Anybody know which stores are lowering their prices!

Also, anybody know if you get tesco clubcard points if you use your card up north!

The stores in "border counties":

LOUTH
Drogheda
Dundalk

MONAGHAN town

CAVAN
Cavan
Ballinamore
Baileboro

SLIGO town

LEITRIM
Carrick-on-Shannon

DONEGAL
Letterkenny

I think that's all of them...........

Thanks a mill for that . . .

My Lord..this is great news for us customers but for suppliers this is going to be bloody indeed. Tesco will roll this 20+% discount nationwide asap. The rest will have to follow, as as we have seen Lidl have dropped their prices today.

There is now a serious price war here. If Tesco can buy their international brands from the UK (where 65 million people live) how on earth is Dunnes, Musgraves, and Superquinn goiing to compete?? Tesco are taking out their big stick and they are going to clobber the competition.

I would say that the Asda buy out of Dunnes will happen quite quickly now.

Weheehh! Wallyworld coming to town. My favourite store in the USA. And you smiley, have a nice day. :D

You can't use your ROI clubcard in NI or the UK - but if you had access to an address up there, you could get a separate card.

Sainsbury's facilitate ROI customers by allowing them to use the store address for their Nectar Card (although they don't issue vouchers which makes it easier).

If prices fall too far then the company will have to let people go.

Mind you I believe prices in Ireland have been grossly overinflated for years.
