We think we've narrowed down our search to these two areas, both have good schools and good facilities nearby. Any opinions on which way to swing it?
Realistically I think a car will still be necessary in either place. In Marino you still might want one to get to the park and ride at Clontarf Dart station.
Dart station is in Fairview, not Clontarf
But I can't see how you'd have to drive from Marino to get there. Marino isn't a big area, and in some parts it'd probably be just as fast to walk it
The station is io Clontarf. Fairview ends at the end of Fairview park. If you lived on the top of philipsburge avenue it would take about 15 mins to walk to the station. On a bad morning the car would be a must.
To all intents and purposes Clontarf Road Dart Station (to use the proper name) is in Fairview. It's a good 1.5 miles from Clontarf 'village' but is practically across the road from the most easterly parts of Marino. The train station, along with WestWood, forms part of the boundary of Fairview park.
I disagree. The boundery for Fairview stops at the park. Westwood and the Clontarf Train Station are in clontarf. This has been previously discussed http://www.askaboutmoney.com/showthread.php?t=77254 with the same outcome. Some stating it is in Fairview and some saying it is in Clontarf. Lets leave it at that i suggest.
Noel have you also lived on the Navan Road?
I don't use my car that much but I'd never be without it now.
The train station is to all intents in Fairview.
Do you have facts to back this up or is it just your opinion.
