I must be a soft touch - a "friend I only see when he needs something" drove past the houses of a few of his mates over to my house to borrow my lawn mower. I know that borrowed tools work harder but I thought that it's a good solid machine and it can hadle a straight-forward front and back in any hands.
Well - it came back in a few pieces - "I don't know how but this just broke" the plastic was in my opinion very solid and the broken piece could be used to rob a bank or de-rail a train......
I am now considering joining the group who make excuses to avoid lending their tools etc.... 'The lawnmowers broken' even though the grass is cut brigade.. or it's away getting a service and will be a few weeks...
The guy I gave it to is a little down on lifes luck at the moment so I won't be sending him the bill... In the meantime my grass is growing and my good mower has to go to the mechanic - the last time I left in in for a repair I was waiting 2 months.....
I wouldn't mind but I just had an argument with my wife about lending the lawnmower - I retorted by calling her mean not to offer it and saying it would be looked after etc.......
