I have been approached via telephone and email to purchase shares in a company. The company, an internet/technology company, looks to have a product in great demand. I agreed in principle to the purchase and was probably very foolish in giving them my postal address. I have been sent a form (via email) to sign and fax back to the company HQ (seems to check out) and also bank details of where the money has to be sent - Switzerland. I have asked several questions via email - the email address seems valid - but I have received no answers. Any time I have sent queries by email they have always been responded to by telephone. I am wary of purchasing. Any one else being approached in this manner? I am also concerned about possible identity theft as I have been requested to send proof of ID to comply with the Patriot Act.
