Have you tried watching "Seconds from Disaster" or "Air Crash Investigation" with Leo McKern doing the voice-over? It's laughable.
Having never seen "Deadliest Catch" with the original voicing, I'll bet I would find it impossible to watch with the US voice!
Too right, sorry about that - Leo McKern is the dead dude that used to be Rumpole. Leo Enright is the fellow that makes PK sound good.I thought it was Leo Enright that did voice over for one of these?
What's the problem with Leo Enright? It's not that I'm his greatest fan, but I don't quite see what the problem is?Have you tried watching "Seconds from Disaster" or "Air Crash Investigation" with Leo McKern doing the voice-over? It's laughable.
He manages to be both leaden and wooden at the same time. It's obvious that he's reading a script, but he doesn't do it with the same enthusiasm and you don't feel he either has the background knowledge or really cares about the subject. What's the problem with Leo Enright? "And here we see some primates who should zip up their mickies..."a bit like listening to Twink voice "Life on Earth"!
Have you ever seen state TV funded by license fees and taxes in other countries? One word summarises RTE: amateurish.
Have you ever seen state TV funded by license fees and taxes in other countries?
I've watched both HRT (Croatia) and RAI (Italy) which would fit that bill and would have stronger claims to the amateurism attributed to RTE above and a general lack of quality in terms of presentation and programming in my opinion There is a longer list of public/state broadcasters here which might include details of which receive both tax/license and advertising revenue.Do many other state broadcasters get license and advertising revenue?
you're on form."And here we see some primates who should zip up their mickies..."

I always liked that suggestion of having Rolf Harris presenting a program about animals rescued from gory accidents - "Can you see what it is yet?".Animal Rescue... God I hate those sort of programmes.
