Problem with income tax calculation in online Form 11

This afternoon ROS was down for maintenance and when it came back online, a problem has appeared with the page in Form 11 that calculates the income tax. There was an extra amount in the higher rate section that should not have been there (a substantial amount, over 3000 euro). Perhaps this is something specific to me (I was working on my tax return when it went offline) but I thought I would post here so people can double check things before submitting.

It is hard to see what you are talking about with so little information

Can you post more details of what you think is mis-calculated?

Here is the calculation:

It was working fine a week ago, but I am not sure exactly when things went wrong.

Hard to say what's wrong

Presumably you input income that comes to 43,744 - how it gets 47,568 is a mystery or a bug

Yes, definitely a bug. That was why I posted, I wanted to warn anyone who is about to submit their return.
I am not sure when it happened, but I suspect it was to do with whatever they did today when the site was offline. It was definitely working correctly just over a week ago:

Interestingly, the taxable income has also changed by 5 euro even thouigh I didn't do anything to that (the only thing I did was to add the purchase of some FTEs). I have also just realised that the DIRT rate is incorrect as well.

It’s good of you to post and draw attention to a possible issue.
Great community this.
Thank you.

Hi,

Did you try deleting the existing form and re-doing? DId the revenue respond on myenquiries?

Thanks
They got back to me this afternoon with exactly this suggestion. Unfortunately it didn't work (it fixed the very slight 5 euro difference at the top but not the main problem). I have replied to their reply and I will report back when I hear anything.

I wonder did they calculate 7168 as follows.

43744 - 40000 = 3744 - 160 (Dirt) 3584 * 2 = 7168

40000 + 7168 + 400 = 47568

Probably not, but could be error in function while system was down for maintenance.

You can be sure there is no chance the error would be to the benefit of the tax player !

My colleagues attended an Irish tax institute conference today joined by revenue and one of the points mentioned was

"Revenue are aware of Form 11 issues and are currently working on or have already resolved same. Eg DIRT was being charged at 40% and this is now corrected to 33%.

Thank you for this Cally, at least they know something is wrong with the form.
The DIRT has not been corrected though (as of 4pm when I deleted the form and redid it).

They have got back to me again saying that thay can't do anything until I submit the return. Then they can see where the issues are arrising.

So I am thinking I will leave it until next week to see if anything changes, and if not, I will submit with what I think are the correct figures and add a note as to why my figures differ frem the calculated ones.

Its funny you mention the extra taxable amount. When i looked at a clean form (without any claims/additional income) it told me that there was an underpayment of about 330 EUR. As a PAYE, I'm somewhat confused by how that could be out so much. Now that you've highlighted that Form 11 is not calculating correctly I need to go and do a manual calculation on the correct taxable amount -

If anybody has a good sample format to use, that would be appreciated.

Same! they said they are working to resolve but haven't heard back in a week.

A new error, after I fill in the employment details of a client and click continue which directs to PAYE/BIK 2 page. The following error is coming up

Well, I suppose if we look on the bright side, the new error does at least mean they are working on it.
Surely the system should be taken down if they know it is not working though.

Wow... Finally.
