We just moved in Ireland and don't really understand our heating system. There is a switch for hot water, on/off. There is also a timer, for heating the house. If the switch is on, but the timer is off, the water heats, but not the house. If the switch is off, nothing heat. So to heat the house, we need to turn the switch and the timer on. So why is there a timer? since it work heat if the switch is off, the timer is kind of useless...unless I'm missing something.
