It’s over 60s. If you’re borderline, they’ll give you the benefit of the doubt

One happy sunny morning a couple of decades ago I wandered into Woodies to pick up and item I needed. On paying I noted to the young woman at checkout that I was charged less than the displayed price. "Oh yes", said she, "the old age discount".
Now in my mind I was, if not exactly youthful, certainly still in my prime. I mark my decline to that day!
Beware Woodies!

I had decided to buy a Toyota Corolla until I went to Woodies one Thursday and noticed the car park was full of pensioners mostly in Corollas, all in for their 10% discount.
I bought a Hyundai instead, which kept me younger for a bit longer.

Somebody that I know was given the 10% OAP discount automatically the other day and was simultaneously offended and delighted.

Was offered a seat in a packed bus by a nice young lady a few years back. Was also offended and delighted;)

I avoid Woodies. In my mental state I'd never survive that mix of emotions, and as I drive a Corolla, I'd never find it in the car park on a Thursday.

Had the same experience twice while still in my 50s. Came away bemused; delighted with the discount and a bit sensitive about the back handed compliment. Now just enjoy the discount !

My very first car was a Corolla, but that rust bucket has long since shucked off it's mortal coil.
