Your random money saving tips?

I switched the central heating off, for the whole winter.... as an experiment.
Call it voluntary discomfort.
Like anything, you get used to it.
Whatever about turning the thermostat down to save money, that sounds a bit risky if it gets cold \ damp... pipes, mould... you'd want to be sure of the fundamentals of your property of that could cost you more in the long run.

There are people who watch www.rip.ie on a daily basis ...
Great feed to be had at funerals down the country.
Just turn up at the end and shake a few hands outside the Church. Then you don't even have to go to the actual funeral.

You can also go to a funeral the day of your wife's birthday. If you're in any way creative it's a great way to get a nice bunch of flowers.

A shared packet of KP and 10 pints. A bargain.
Free peanuts fall into same category so encouraging a thirst.
The last time I came across this was in a pub in manorhamiton co. Leitrim…saltiest cocktail sausages served at 23:30 on a winter Sunday night..ended up in a lock-in till 4 in the morning…sausages were great along with pints of Guinness.

Money Saving Tip:

Stop wasting time reading this thread - it's more nonsense, than anything else, at this stage.

Save mobile phone, tablet, laptop or PC power.

Save data, if you aren't on an unlimited plan...

Almost certain to save you a few bob:-
1. Don’t do the Lotto. (It’s another tax, stupid)
2. Don’t do Euromillions. (Odds are the worst available anywhere).
3. Don’t buy any raffle tickets. (You don’t know where your money will end up)
4. Don’t do any gambling whatsoever. (Hypocritically, I love the gee gees + football).

I don’t see the point of closing this thread because it is a costless place advising readers on how to save money.
Then it needs a massive tidy up, to remove all the nonsense that's been posted...

I'm amazed that it's been allowed to continue tbh - not in keeping with the usual firm moderation at AAM, that's for sure

This will be a weird one. I was fixing the bathroom and I stopped using the immersion realise I saved €10 per week so I joined the gym and now I don’t use my immersion and I shower in the gym… It’s effectively free gym membership

Extravagant.

Rain. Back yard. Lifebuoy.

Anyone know of any good Lifebuoy deals?
