Yeah but what about the airfare to get there?I have just enjoyed the Wednesday special of fresh Cod and chips from the San Marino takeaway for €10.
I moved house recently and the takeaway across the road is superb. It's a real struggle not to get dinner from them every week.I have just enjoyed the Wednesday special of fresh Cod and chips from the San Marino takeaway for €10.

But please don't do it on a motorway or where the rest of the traffic is moving faster.Vehicle fuel saving tips: Remove unused roof racks, remove other excess weight, drive in a high gear between 60 - 80km ph max.

80kmph is perfectly acceptable in the left hand lane. But please don't do it on a motorway or where the rest of the traffic is moving faster.
If the rest of the traffic is moving at 95Kmph and you are driving at 80 then you are causing other motorists to slow and then change lanes. That's dangerous.80kmph is perfectly acceptable in the left hand lane.
Speeds posted on roads are limits not targets.
Absolute rubbish. If the rest of the traffic is moving at 95Kmph and you are driving at 80 then you are causing other motorists to slow and then change lanes. That's dangerous.
I know of someone who used do this. (He had loads of money.) One of his children later took his own life.I switched the central heating off, for the whole winter.... as an experiment.
Call it voluntary discomfort.
Like anything, you get used to it.
I just hope you live in a well insulated home. I make sure I don't heat the place when there's nobody around, but completely turning it off even during the not-particular-harsh Irish winters would be one of those "last resort" actions for me. I hope that your financial situation isn't that dire...I switched the central heating off, for the whole winter.... as an experiment.

Be aware of: causation vs correlation. Not a topic for a throw-away comment methinks.I know of someone who used do this. One of his children later took his own life.
It's certainly not a throwaway comment and I can add further detail regarding causation/correlation if you really want me to.Be aware of: causation vs correlation. Not a topic for a throw-away comment methinks.
No need. I am familiar. I just don't feel it being the right place in the context of this arguably intended to be more light-hearted thread. YMMV.It's certainly not a throwaway comment and I can add further detail regarding causation/correlation if you really want me to.
Turning off the heating in winter is a favourite tool of a psychological abuser/control freak.
