I don't think it's healthy for one party to a relationship to try to "save" that relationship when the other person has made it clear that as far as they're concerned it's over.

I agree, but there's insufficient information to say for certain that that's the case. Only the original poster and their spouse can address that issue.

If my spouse said they wanted a separation and for me to move out of the house, I'd take that as fairly conclusive evidence that we were done.
