dreamerb, thanks for the reply. I can easily get gas and always have a spare bottle. But bottled gas is a very expensive way of getting gas into our homes. I have read that it can be five or six times more expensive per unit that electricity. That would be a significant difference over the life of an oven. hence my initial inquiry.
Does anybody know how much bottled gas is per unit for oven cooking, say roasting a turkey for five hours on 180? What would be the difference for an electric oven and a bottle gas oven?
I guess most people would be like me in that you buy on basis of which cooks best rather than cost. Also consider how much would you use an oven we dont roast a turkey every week or do you
For me an electric fan oven has always been best, cooking more evenly and accurately time wise, we are lucky to have mains gas but I would still have got gas for a hob, again its down to preference.
We have Bosch seperate oven and hob and really pleased with both
