I think you will find Shannon handles more long haul traffic than Cork.
If transatalantic flight diverted form Dublin, does it divert to Shannon or Cork ?
Besides Horan International (Connaght Regional they keep changing the bloody name) had transatalanbtic flight before Cork I believe. At least they had a 747 before Cork.
Now there's an idea a Luas to Knock, never mind going to Dingle with the Dort (ah sure Dingle doesn't exist anymore since now known as Peigstown or something).
