waiting to go sale agreed

Re: gone sale agreed... thanks 1 and all

congratulations!
get your mortgage stuff sorted asap, then arrange mortgage protection and home insurance , you organise the surveyor yourself and your lender will arrange the valuation - good luck!

Re: gone sale agreed... thanks 1 and all

Tip - don't assume the broker will give you the best deal on mortgage protection and home insurance. I went with my broker for the home insurance (only after shopping around first), but went with LA Brokers for the mortgage protection.

Don't let your impatience continue to stress you out. (As if! :))We had a long, protracted wait between signing the contracts and the seller signing!

Oh, and congratulations!

Re: gone sale agreed... thanks 1 and all

Congratulations postivenote, if a little tentatively. I went sale agreed on the 10th of Jan and although contracts are signed at my end my solicitor warned me not to celebrate until she got them back.
It is exciting for you though, congrats again.

Congratulations also, as advised above, get all your documentation together asap. Hassles Ive experienced have been purely due to post going missing (have hand delivered some documents as a result) and not being able to get in contact with the broker at times. Our estate agent recommended a surveyor to us so you could ask him/her for someone. There are posts here also re surveyors.

congrats, hoping to get some positive news meslef by end of business !!!

but dont get ur hopes, been in this position meself, and have learnt from bitter experience that it doesnt mean anything until the contracts are signed, so i suppose thats what u shoudl get sorted asap

Re: gone sale agreed... thanks 1 and all

Congratulations, positivenote. As everyone said, do not open the champagne yet, as until you don't get contracts back, anything can go wrong. Have gone sale agreed twice in the past months, and in both cases everything has gone wrong (it doesn't have to be your case, we have been really unlucky). Let us know how you get on anyway.

Re: gone sale agreed... thanks 1 and all

I found FBD cheapest for house insurance -
2/3 of the price of the cheapest 123.ie quote...

Congratulations but please stop opening (in this case your bidding/progress on the new purchase). This is the third time that I have had to merge a new thread of yours into an existing one that dealt with the same issue.

well done, but just to echo what others have said - the house is yours when the keys are in your hands and don't bank on it till then. We were sale agreed twice and had sellers pull out before we finally got our place. This is not scaremongering, its just advising you dont set yourself up for a fall.

Get your booking deposit in asap, ensure sign goes to Sale Agreed, likewise on websites.

Get your solicitor in gear and get on their case keeping them moving (email is often best means of contact). Get your mortgage side of things sorted out, all paperwork in asap.

Get a survey done, explicitly ask him to look for any asbestos or lead piping that might be around, as well as the usual stuff.

Shop around for mortgage protection and house insurance - LA Brokers, 123, FBD all good prices.

Good luck with it!
