Yes that is true but with the trouble I have with my second hand car I feel you are paying for parts and other people's wear and tear to the car. I've got such a scalding with my car thats why Im going for a brand new car. I know all second hand cars are not troublesome but to me to have some peace on mind its worth it

Your second hand 4 year old 1.9 tdi passat is giving you problems so to alleviate it you are buying a new 1.9 tdi passat. Any problems you are having with a car of that age probably has nothing to do with the fact it's second hand. No logic here Jo4711

You obviously haven't heard the thread about my Passat being clocked?

After the rough few weeks I've had trying to sort it out and get my money back I think I deserve a new car without paying for somebody elses wear and tear :)

No disrespect but granted you had a dogey situation with the clocked car don't kid yourself that this is a sensible financial choice.

"Paying for someone elses wear and tear" is amongst the poorest excuses i've heard to date for justifying to oneself that you simply want a new car.

The new Passat is a fine car no doubt but for the amount of money you're laying out there are far far superior choices in the 2 to 3 year old bracket, for specification, reliability, prestige and comfort.

But they won't have a '06' plate....
