Virgin Media broadband new contract with spouse?

I have cable broadband but want to upgrade to full fibre. I’ve put in a cancellation request and VM have offered to upgrade the connection for free and give me the usual 9 months half price.
Bonkers.ie have a current VM offer of 40 pm, 24 month contract for new customers .VM tell me this doesn’t exist!
Has anyone switched to a new connection in their other half’s name, same property obviously and how has it worked out for them in practice ?
Any experience most appreciated

How much does the VM 9 months price work out at over the year?

Did you try ringing Bonkers and sound them out about the offer?

You may have a gap in service and might be required to return the equipment.

Another poster @ClubMan has mentioned a few times on AAM that he has cancelled and reregistered.

Have emailed Bonkers Sue Ellen. Awaiting response.
Really looking to know if anyone has switched names without controversy at the same house.

No, but I've cancelled and signed back up as a new customer, in order to get the "new customer" deals, using my own details (identical to before) several times without any problems.

Just to update….Bonkers say it’s a valid offer for sign up. VM person on phone (India?) says it doesn’t exist.
I know who I believe.

Yes, i did this around 12 months ago and had no problems - cancelled the contract in my name and used wife's email etc to re-sign up to half price and better internet speed (not fibre however). 24 month contract, same address. Was pretty seamless - they sent a new horizon box which was plug+play.

As I've said before, you don't have to use someone else's details to sign up again. You can use your own again. I've done it for several years in a row now.
