Hi,
My elderly parents are on VHI HealthPlus Extra with renewal on August 1st 2014. The premium quoted is €4,468.
One of my parents has a pacemaker that may need replacing in next 18 months, I think it better to leave that parent on this plan as moving to plan Healthplus Access give 90% cover and I believe a pacemaker comes under FPP Level 1 with VHI so could be looking at €3,000 payment if cost of pacemaker in total is €30,000.
Could I maybe move my other parent to HealthPlus Access to lower the premium a bit.
Any advice appreciated on an alternative plan or opinion.
I rang VHI earlier this week about moving to PMI 30 12 and they discouraged this. On about losing FPP Level 2 cover that could cost €40,000 for TAVI procedure, the cardiac cover and 80% for hips operation if go with PMI 30 12.
