VHI seem to be moving HealthPlus Access customers to Advanced Care 100 (€2412.30 per adult per year) when HealthPlus Access is retired at the end of this year.

They are introducing two new cheaper plans from the 1st January 2025 but their table of benefits are not available online until 1st January 2025.
  • AdvancedCare 250 (€2,250 per adult per year)
  • AdvancedCare 250 Day-to-Day (€2,450 per adult per year)
For comparison AdvancedCare 100 Day to Day is €2588.23 per adult per year.

This is where their Tables of Benefit are available (expand. Health Insurance Plans) - https://www.vhi.ie/downloads

I rang VHI asking for a copy of the Table of Benefits for Advanced Care 250 but they would not make them available to me unless I gave them personal details such as name and address, phone number, date of birth and email address. I declined.

The cynic in me suspects that they want to lock customers into the more expensive Advanced Care 100 plan and not make it easy to go with the cheaper (higher excess - I'm guessing) Advanced Care 250 plans.

A lot of the people on the plans to be retired will be older people, being moved to a plan which is a price increase on what they are already paying who may not realise that they could save some money by going with a plan that has a higher excess.

Am I missing something?
