Velux v glidevale metrolite

My architect has specified 2 velux windows in my flat roof extension but the builder has shown me an alternative which is made by Glidevale called the Metrolite. It's more of a dome shaped window and looks like it would let in more light. Has anyone any experience of these? Or any general thoughts on windows in flat roof extensions. It has to have a mechanical opening device.
 
Very hard to beat Velux on quality they set the standard !

I agree Hard to beat velux... top quality windows really are I would have used them more if I had known... also some one will tell me this is a fault but when its cold in winter ice forms on the outside pane of glass which to me shows what little heat transfers out of my hot room through the glass
 
That's correct, Bluemac. The same happens in our attic, even with a rad under the window. Excellent!

I also have a few Fakro windows and they're great also.
