USD from ATMs at Dublin Airport

As per title - is this still a service offered by BOI?

Looking to bring a small amount of cash to the US for a short trip.

Was thinking of using Revolut card at BOI ATM to take out $200.

If this is not an option, can anyone recommend another method?

Have to say though that I have rarely needed any USD cash on my trips beyond Texas, and in case you go to clubs where you might need it for ticket/cloakroom.

I used a Revolut debit card at private ATM in a US hotel two years ago. Surcharge was $3 but the Revolut exchange rate is better than an Irish retail bank will give you.

I’m not sure what the breakeven point is but we are talking a euro or so in the scheme of a US holiday.

If it's only $200, why not go to your local bank and get it there, saves all the hassle of running around the airport

What hassle exactly? The ATMs airside are very accessible, whereby your local bank branch has opening hours, might not be that local, and I wouldn’t put it beyond them that you need to call first to ensure there’s even $200 available.

Admittedly many years ago but I remember going to the BOI machine in Dublin airport and it not working
Presume it has change today and these machines are always working ??
You might be right about ordering before hand if it was a large amount, I would have thought $200 would be a walk in option

I prefer the post office. For the last US trip just walked in with €50 notes and walked out with $600 in $20 bills. Did need to show id.

Just watch the exchange rate offered - have an idea of the cost in your head.

$200 should cost just under €200 allowing for fees and exchange rates. My guess is the ICE machines in the airport would charge €220+

Larger bank branches and main post offices would probably carry a small stock of dollars.

Similarly if you are in Dublin city, the No.1 exchange kiosk on westmoreland st can be reasonably good on rates - today its €196 for $200 https://www.no1currency.ie/stores/currency-exchange-dublin-city-centre/

If you are in Dublin Fexco on Westmoreland Street do a good exchange rate. I remember taking USD out in Dublin Airport some time ago and I gor 3 x 100 dollar bills; was very hard to get change etc.
You can pre-order from Fexco and ask for smaller denominations
