US Index funds

Does anyone know if non US residents (Ireland) can invest directly in Vanguard's US based Index funds? I see an intermediary called Moneycube provides this facility but they are obviously charging a fee for their service which in many ways goes against the very ethos of Vanguards low cost passive index funds philosophy.

The middle man incurs costs providing the service so I would not expect the service to be free - even facebook isn't "free"

As to the possibility of purchasing US resident funds in Ireland, no reputable brokering service will do that as the legal documentation is not available and so no investor protection supported - is that a risk you want to take on?

To clarify, I've no issue with paying for a middle man service, if it is required. I appreciated the need to pay for services.

Drivewealth seems to be a reputable broker for purchasing shares and limited ETF index funds at low cost.
