UPVC front door

Hello,
Just asking opinions on PVC front doors. We need to upgrade our current, old wooden door which is poor quality. Composite / Palladio are lovely but our front door is located on the side of the house (not street facing) and so I'm not sure it's worth the 2k price tag just for the look of it.

I assumed they were far better insulated than UPVC but on looking into it it seems not? Is this correct?

While obviously we want a secure front door, again, I'm not sure I need it to be axe proof either.

My final issue though is that I can't really seem to find anyone quoting for high quality UPVC doors. Ive been told they come in a range of colours and glazing options but can't locate any actual suppliers. Any recommendations in Cork region?

It seems to be all composite or plasticy white PVC back doors.

Don't know an awful lot about these doors but would recommend that you at least get a strong one. I have seen a few neighbours being burgled because the thieves were able to either kick in the weak door or prise it open with a screwdriver.

I think what we have is the composite/palladio version and has a double locking lock and we find it excellent.

Some relevant previous AAM threads here.
