I agree.it may be practice that tradesmen dont give invoices. Its still shambolic and unaceppatable. To me at least.

Not sure about that, They have given their bank details for you to make payment, would this not be fully traceable and liable for whatever taxes etc ?I pay a load of tax yet these charlatans pay watever they like. Thats not on.
Get someone else the next time so. If you can find anyone that is.Look its simple.

Are you confusing an invoice with a receipt? Do you require an invoice for your own accounting purposes or what's the reason? For most consumer tradesman interactions, the costs should be clarified via a quotation prior to the work commencing.It not professionsal. Its not courteous. Its dodge.
