The parable of the Duke of Marmalade

Complainer has a point. To the extent that Anglo activity was abroad very little contribution was made to the Irish taxpayer. But the fact remains that over 10 years the Irish debt/income ratio fell from 100% to 25%. This was an illusion. It's simply back to as we were, a relatively poor peripheral sub scale economy with no natural resources (other than cows and the best educated English speaking population in the world). We had near enough the highest income/capita in whole planet earth. It was an illusion.
