Had you gone through any appeal with AIB?

No ‘appeal’ with AIB - assumed from AIBs ‘final’ letter re my simple v compound interest query that the ombudsman was the next step.

Nb I’m not in 300 cohort / there is another thread about that and appeals v ombudsman

Correct.

The confusion is that people in the 300 Cohort are covered by the Central Bank Tracker Mortgage Examination Scheme which gives them the right and obligation to go to the Appeals Panel before going to the Ombudsman.

But the rest of the Prevailing Rate Cohort are not covered by the TME and so can't go to the Appeals Panel.

Hi all,

I am only following up now on the simple v compound interest.

Totally my own fault, I missed the 12 month deadline by 8 days, just realised today when I went to check.

Can I ask is it still worth submitting complaint to AIB or is there any other steps I should complete?

Hi,

I would still send in your complaint.

Get it in ASAP.

There is no 12 month deadline. AIB made that up.
