Do you mean TAIN - Tax Advisor Identification Number?
TIN is an internationally used phrase and included in information exchange across jurisdictions such as FATCA, CRS, etc. Each country informs OECD of what their TIN is and the rules around it, etc.
In the case of Ireland, for a private individual, it's their PPS Number.

Surely not here in Ireland, at least I haven't. Don't we just have a PPSN (Personal Public Services Number) and not a Social Security Number .

No, not here in Ireland. I’m a dual Irish/US Citizen.
In Ireland I’ve only ever encountered PPS Number.
In the USA (and American matters) I’ve encountered both TIN and SSN but I only have the latter.
(The UK is/was National Insurance Number and Australia is/was Tax File Number.)
These are the only ones I’ve experience of.

You mean the correct answer? That's a tangent?
If I was pedantic about it I could point out that Revenue use “PPS Number”, not “PPSN”.
Roger Casement was hung on a comma, and all that. And after all, in this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death (by hanging or otherwise -@Drakon) and taxes.
Thought I’d throw that in for fear of “off topic” suggestions.
