Hello all,
I have a question and wonder if someone can shed some light as I found conflicting info….
It should be relatively simple so I don’t really want to engage a tax consultant as my scenario is quite straightforward.
I have received about 2k in deposit interest last year (2024) from an investment through Raisin in a Eurozone bank .
The interest is normally taxed like DIRT at 33%, but it’s not DIRT since it's not a Irish bank. I’m a non domiciled taxpayer so I wonder if I
need to do a return (I don’t usually do returns as I have no other income other than my PAYE income) and pay the 33% tax (no witholding occurred).
Or I don’t have any liability until when (and if) I bring the capital invested plus interests back to Ireland , since this is not DIRT ?
Thanks
stefan
