Tax Credit Certificate for unemployed?

Hi,
I have been in receipt of Jobseekers Benefit for a few months now. I last worked in August 2007.
Does the Revenue send out a Certificate of Tax Credits to the unemployed or do I have to apply? I ask this because I have some part time work coming up and will need a tax certificate.
Thanks.

If you got one last year then I would expect that you will get one this year. Maybe it's on its way? Register for the [broken link removed] and check/update your details youself perhaps?

If you don't have an active employment with someone in January I don't think you will get a tax credit certificate. When you start your new job ring Revenue with the following details: Your PPS number, your employer's tax number, date of commencement. This will enable them to issue a cert. to your new employer.

Don't forget to tell Social Welfare the number of days per week you are employed in your new job so that they will continue to pay you for the days you have no work.

At the end of the tax year you can get a certificate of taxable benefit received from Social Welfare so that you can include it with your income from employment when making a tax return
