Since these are used in commercial kitchens I thought they would be cheaper than stone but apparently they are more expensive. Does anyone know where I can get steel counters made without paying too much?

They're used in commercial kitchens because they are more hygenic. There's a couple of suggestions in this thread, either will be able to make something to your specifications.

Is it an aesthetic thing that you would like steel kitchen counters or some other reason?? Personally I would think that they would look very unsuitable in a private dwelling and if you ever intended to sell your home would possiblt put potential buyers off...

Thanks Leo,
Sounds like the business.
Tallpaul: I think they look really good in a modern kitchen, and they are hygenic, waterproof, heatproof and low maintenance.
Lorz: I am in Bray, Co. Wicklow.
