Hi

Just to note, our solicitor advised us, that the govt look for additional monies to the 6% we paid on our home (FTB).

We have to pay an additional €390 on top of the €25k we paid them. If I recall rightly it is a cost on each €1,000 we borrowed plus a 12.50 admin fee to the govt.

Couldn't believe it.

Sounds like stamp duty on your mortgage- at 0.1% up to a maximum of €630 where it is capped, plus €12.50 on a counterpart mortgage. This is normal.

I belive this is mortgage stamp duty

From the revenue site : http://www.revenue.ie/
