Ok so I have had a really bad run of phones recently. I had a Sony Ericsson w300i which had been brilliant I had no problems at all with it and got my upgrade last October to a w580i I had this phone in both silver/blue and pink and both of them had the same button cracking problems. Eventually my network replaced the phone with a Nokia7373. I got this in early January and it was fine but in the past few weeks it has been giving up and losing signal and reception and messaging is dodgy and unreliable. It also takes about 20 minutes to turn on after being off.

So now I need to replace it. I am due an upgrade again in November but I cant do without a phone until then. I dont have my w300i anymore my mom has it and I cant really ask for it back so I need an affordable phone and I would rather a Sony Ericsson.

So far I have come to a choice between
Sony Ericsson w350i
Sony Ericsson w380i

I need to know more about these phones for reliability. I know the camera quality is poor but I want to know if any one has had problems with any of these. Its a choice of quality over specifications (camera, music etc) I really cannot afford to have to be getting new phone every few months.

Any help will be really appreciated.

Got my 580i back this week after the keypad was replaced. It feels much stronger now. Why did you not go down the repair route rather than get a Nokia?

Yea my second model felt a lot stronger too. It wasn't, I ended up having two of the phones with two repairs I was getting sick of complaining and the other solution was to change. Im glad I did now even if the Nokia didn't last long. Loads of people I know have since got the phone and not one of them has gotten one where the keypads not broken. I was tempted to go for the phone again this time but a salesperson at Carphonewarehouse advised me to go for something different because they are still getting complaints.

I have decided to go for a Sony Ericsson w200i. Its 60 euro and will do me until I am due my upgrade in October. There's no point in spending money on the other two phones I mentioned because no one seems to have had experience with them and the salesperson I asked wasn't too enthusiastic about the quality of them.

I've had no problems with w810i.

Ditto. I've had it for nearly 2 years now and I think it's a great phone. I would say go for the 800 series of phones (W800 K800 etc.) series as friends of mine with W800, K800, K850 are happy and it must be more than co-incidence.

Also, 'er indoors had the K610 and it also had excellent build quality.

I've a K800i and despite wanting to hate it (previous phone was a Nokia and was well used to it) it's actually not bad. Camera is very good 3.2 mega pixels, not great flash, but during daylight excellent. It has a radio and a few other nice features. I've a load of my iPod music on it too after getting a memory upgrade. Charges quickly and lasts a long time. It has been dropped on the floor 101 times by me, and the kids, and has survived many sticky fingers. Vodafone are doing a promo on it I think at the moment.

There's a repair centre in Sandyford that fixes phones free if they're under warranty I just got a Nokia fixed there. For Sony's and Nokia's the warranty is 2 years, you don't need proof of purchase either they can tell by the code on it when it was issued.

your nokia phone should still be covered by warranty if you wanted to get it repaired or replaced by your network as it seems a shame you have bught a phone last october that was replaced and the replacement has not lasted even ten months.

Has anyone had problems with the SE PC to Phone software ? When I connect my K800i to the PC, the PC invariably crashes.
